Practical experience managing a full web hosting environment using the Hestia Control Panel. 03. METHODOLOGY

Domain & DNS Configuration

  • Added and managed multiple domains and subdomains within Hestia.
  • Configured DNS records (A, AAAA, CNAME, MX) for web and email routing.
  • Validated DNS propagation and ensured compatibility with external DNS providers..

SSL Certificate Deployment

  • Implemented Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates for HTTPS.
  • Automated certificate renewals and monitored expiration windows.
  • Resolved certificate-chain issues and mixed-content warnings.

File Access & Permission Management

  • Audited directory structures for correct ownership and permissions.
  • Fixed permission-related errors impacting PHP apps and static assets.
  • Applied least-privilege principles to reduce attack surface.

Server-Side Troubleshooting

  • Diagnosed misconfigurations in Nginx/Apache templates and PHP-FPM settings.
  • Corrected issues with rewrite rules, missing modules, and document roots.
  • Used access and error logs to trace root causes and validate fixes.
